The terms, in plain words.
Effective November 2, 2026
These terms cover kykept.com and the Kentucky Kept app ("Kentucky Kept," "kk," "we"). Kentucky Kept is a Merle Blue project based in Lexington, Kentucky. By using either, you agree to these terms.
For businesses, in one paragraph
Kentucky Kept is free during the founding period, with no contract. Leave anytime. If we ever add paid features, we'll tell you first, and nothing is charged without your agreement. You choose your own perk and deals.
A preview
Kentucky Kept is in preview, so features may change or stop. Businesses marked DEMO, and their deals, are fictional examples.
Members
- Membership is free. One card per person.
- Use your own name and email, and keep your card to yourself.
₭ (Kept points)
- You keep ₭5 each time you check in at a kk business, plus bonus ₭ during live deals.
- One check-in per business every 4 hours, and only when you actually visit.
- ₭ are points, not money. They have no cash value and can't be bought, sold or transferred.
- What ₭ unlock will be announced at launch.
- We may correct balances that come from errors or misuse, such as check-ins without a visit.
- We may change or end the points program. We'll post changes here first.
Deals and perks
Perks and deals come from the businesses that post them. Each business sets its terms and is responsible for honoring them. Deals can end early or sell out. Kentucky Kept doesn't sell the goods or services.
Business accounts
- Claim a business only if you own it or are authorized to run it. We confirm claims before a listing becomes a member.
- You're responsible for your perk, your deals and what you post, including having the rights to your photos.
- You let us show what you post on Kentucky Kept so we can run the service. We may remove content that's misleading or unlawful.
Directory listings
The directory lists independent Lexington businesses using public data from OpenStreetMap. A listing isn't an endorsement by the business, and details may be out of date. We publish a business's free website only after its owner claims it. Owners can correct or remove a listing by emailing hello@kykept.com, and we aim to act within two business days.
Fair use
Don't fake check-ins or claims, impersonate anyone, copy the site in bulk, or interfere with how it runs.
Our names and others' content
Kentucky Kept, kk and the ₭ mark are our trademarks. Map and directory data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License. If you believe something on Kentucky Kept infringes your copyright, email us the page and the work.
No warranties
Kentucky Kept is provided "as is." We work to keep it accurate and available but don't guarantee it. We aren't responsible for the products or services of the businesses listed, or for errors in public data.
Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to $50.
Kentucky law
Kentucky law governs these terms. Disputes go to the courts in Fayette County, Kentucky.
Changes and contact
We'll post any change here with a new date. Questions go to hello@kykept.com.
